On June 24th 2003, Bangladesh side of the society arranged a cooking demonstration for the members at the Bangladesh Embassy Residence. Paratha, chicken curry, Aloo Puri, Luchi and Gajar Halua were demonstrated. The ladies enjoyed it very much and appreciated the style of Bangladeshi cooking.
Along with the members of the society, some of the Ambassador’s wives and the wife of the Chief of Protocol of the Japanese Foreign Ministry were also invited.
All members from the Bangladeshi side participated and from the Japanese side Mrs. Konoe, Patron of the society, Mrs. Hayakawa, President of the society and Mrs. Nara were also present with other members.
Mrs. Nasrin Fowzia Islam, the wife of the Ambassador welcomed the guests and said that the Society, through a number of events during the past year, has tried its best to bring the Japanese and the Bangladeshi members into closer interaction so that the Japanese members would be able to appreciate and understand Bangladesh’s rich culture better.
Later the guests were treated with traditional Bangladeshi food.
